A Doctor's Confession to the Upstate...

Dear friend,

Confessions are tough. Real tough. But, sometimes a confession can set the record straight, and I want to give credit where credit is due. Before I talk about my confession, though, let me say a few other things first.

Let me start by explaining the photo in this letter. You know, when I meet people in town they usually say, “Oh, yeah, I know you, you’re Dr. Will. I’ve seen your wife and cute little girl.” Well, I’m the lucky guy in the picture.

Years ago something happened to me that changed my life forever. Let me tell you my story:

Back then I worked in the construction industry for myself, but I developed migraine headaches, numb hands, frequent strepp throat, indigestion, and sinus infections. In my case it came on gradually. The pain and sickness were overwhelming, and eventually (after 7 years) I developed another very serious illness, cancer. I was afraid that I’d lose my job if things kept getting worse. After taking antibiotics and pain medications for years for the other symptoms, I had surgery and radiation treatments for the cancer, I was then told by the doctors to “wait and see” as I got weaker and weaker. I was fading away. But, there’s more…

My brother convinces me to give his doctor a try, This new doctor does an exam, takes some films, and then ‘adjusts’ my spine. The adjustment doesn’t hurt, it actually feels good. I get relief after following the doctor’s recommendations and am free of all those symptoms! I am even stronger and feel better than ever! Oh, did I mention that this doctor is a chiropractor? It works so well for me, and I’m so impressed with the other ‘miracles’ I see in his office, that I eventually go to Chiropractic College myself.

Now for the pretty lady in the photo, Gina, my wife. Years ago she was plagued with back and neck pain. She took several painkillers for neck and shoulder pain, yet never really got relief. Imagine not being able to work or do daily activities without pain. After we met and I started to adjust her, the pain started to improve immediately, and now, years later with periodic adjustments, her back and neck pain stays gone. That seems like a small thing, but it makes a huge difference to her. My little girl, Katie, knows enough to ask me to adjust her when she feels like she may be getting sick, or sometimes just to stay “tuned up.”
